Vagrant Booth (VB) is a puppet-theatre, a laboratory theatre - better to say. VB was founded by Alexander Gref in 1989. In the beginning VB was a children's studio so when children grew up, it became a professional theatre. There are three actors in VB at the moment: A.Gref, E.Slonimskaya, L.Sokolova.

The main goal of the theatre is to study folk puppet theatre and to perform it. There are two folk Russian puppet shows on the repertoire of the theatre: Christmas drama called Vertep, and Petrushka, Russian Punch.

VB shows are musical and interactive, the artists don’t use any phonograms, so they play and sing live. A great many of national musical instruments are used VB show. (VB collection has no less than one hundred musical instruments of different types from the different countries.)

VB is a mobile theatre. VB can play the performances not only at theatre room, but also in a cafe, in a small school hall, during a family holiday in a sitting room and in the street among walking public.

VB is a participant of many festivals in the different countries.
